St Non's is the place where Dewi Sant was born and it is just a mile or so from the city. When you visit it you cannot but be impressed by its sense of peace and spirituality. Its timelessness sinks into the soul and it is nowadays used as Catholic retreat centre. The little St. Non's chapel is a reconstruction but it is lovely nonetheless. It shows us what an early medieval Celtic chapel would have looked like. The remains of the old chapel sit in a field not far from the sacred spring which is said to have gushed forth from the rock precisely when and where St David was born.
