Location
Our base is Gelli-Olau (Grove of Light) on the slopes of Carn Ingli (Angel Mountain) overlooking Newport Bay. We are situated in the heart of the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in West Wales that boasts acres of open moorland and miles of wild protected coastline. One can walk 181 miles along a coastal footpath seeing mostly nature, ponies and sheep, beaches, and fishing villages.

Accommodation
Gelli-Olau, our four star accommodation for up to 14 people, is comprised of an C18th rectory and cottage. Settled into one acre of walled garden and surrounded by fields, you have privacy and panoramic views in all directions. Here, you will dine on gourmet meals and may choose to participate in a variety of evening activities such as music and story telling. This historical and comfortable location is an excellent base from which to explore the area on foot, or by joining one of our daily excursions. |

Tours
Join our entertaining, informative daily tours of the area. Our tour guides, including Dr.Brian John, a renowned author and lecturer, offer a wealth of experience and knowledge of the area. Most tours are less than one hour’s drive away from Gelli-Olau so you will have lots of time to relax and to absorb the beauty of this enchanting area.
In our ongoing efforts to become more ecologically sound, we are pleased to announce the purchase an ethanol fuelled minivan. This comfortable, 17 seat minibus is ideal for our tours and the shuttle to and from London Heathrow Airport. |

Why was Tales in Wales created?
Deanna, Vision Director of Tales in Wales has owned Gelli-Olau for twenty years. “I chose this area because of its unspoiled nature and stunning beauty. It was, and still is, relatively free of commerciality. Within the rural landscape there is a powerful concentration of ancient sacred sites such as cromlechs and stone circles”.
For the last twelve years, Deanna has run a successful retreat centre at Gelli-Olau providing visitors with memorable visits. She now wishes to share the beauty and spiritual depth of the surrounding area by offering local tours. “By keeping the tour groups small (up to 14 people) we keep the footprint small and we can relax and enjoy ourselves”. |
|
It is the aim of Tales in Wales to facilitate a personal and intimate experience of Wales that allows a rich connection to this unforgettable part of the world. These features set Tales in Wales Inc. apart from other tours.
